Splash Copywriters are experienced copywriters who've worked for some of the UK’s biggest brands, including Sky, Vodafone and Three. 

We caught up with founder Matt Press to see how they use BuzzSumo.

Why do you use BuzzSumo?

As a digital marketing agency, we need to stay on top of trending topics. We’re a bunch of experienced copywriters at Splash, so writing the actual content is a breeze. However, BuzzSumo fills in that knowledge gap so that, crucially, we’re writing about the right things.

Has BuzzSumo become essential for your day-to-day work?

BuzzSumo has become more and more important. As our client base has grown, we have started to use it daily. We use BuzzSumo especially often for our marketing clients, as things move so fast in that world. For instance, experiential marketing trends and tactics quickly become yesterday’s news, so we need BuzzSumo to help monitor what influencers are saying.

What is your favorite BuzzSumo Pro feature?

My favourite feature is the content alert system. Splash Copywriters is growing as a content agency, but we’re still quite small. That basically means that, as the Director, I have a million and one jobs to do every day. By having content alerts automatically sent to me as and when they are relevant saves me time and worry.

Why did you choose BuzzSumo?

I first came across BuzzSumo in a content marketing blog post I was reading. The concept of being able to tidy up a bunch of jobs that are often quite time consuming (content research, influencer research etc) immediately leapt out at me. But the graphics also appealed. As I mentioned, I don’t have a lot of spare time, and I’m not particularly tech-savvy – BuzzSumo seemed easy and simple to use.

Why would you advise other organisations to use BuzzSumo?

I would go as far as saying that I think BuzzSumo can be of use to any business in any industry -- regardless of size or stature. Content powers all businesses these days. Whether we’re talking about blogs, white papers, webinars or the like, your content (or lack of it) will dictate whether your business flourishes or not. What BuzzSumo will do is simply save you a lot of time. There are only so many hours in a day, so I use it to fine tune my content strategy so that I can be more impactful.
